POHL STRATEGIC PROVIDES BC CRANE SAFETY WITH POWERFUL NEW WEBSITE SEARCH APPLICATION
Press Release
ABBOTSFORD, B.C., July 12, 2024— Pohl Strategic Marketing has begun work on delivering a powerful and innovative website search application for BC Crane Safety, a non-profit that acts as the provincial authority responsible for crane operator certification and also promotes safer practices in the crane industry based on WorkSafeBC legislation.
This development will allow BC Crane Safety to take a significant step forward in providing their stakeholders with access to a substantial body of information and resources on their website.
According to Clinton Connell, Executive Director of BC Crane Safety, the current website wasn’t working as well as it could to meet the needs of users who required quick and efficient access to news, regulations, and safety practices. “We were aware that it could be better,” Connell said. “We fully expect this upgrade to address those concerns, because it’s important to us that our site is user friendly and provides easy access to the constantly growing library of health and safety resources available to operators, supervisors, and employers.”
Pohl Strategic has already completed the discovery phase, resulting in defined functional parameters and exploring recommendations for the latest advancements in search technology and artificial intelligence.
Jason Pohl, Founder and President of Pohl Strategic, spoke about the independent nature of the application.
“This is not just a plug-in,” he clarified. “This is a third-party tool that is hosted in its own powerful cloud computing environment, so it won’t slow down the client’s website.”
According to Pohl, the biggest boost in search effectiveness comes through deploying an emerging technology known as “semantic search” which integrates machine learning models into the search algorithm. This allows for more intuitive results because the models are trained using AI techniques to follow the connections between concepts, rather than merely looking for word-for-word matches.
Pohl made it clear that boosting search capabilities was the first and most critical goal, but that the groundwork would also be set for future implementation of interactive search technology based on our research into evolving GPT AI frameworks and tools.
The end goal of the project is to establish a powerful, integrated search system on the BC Crane Safety website that leverages cutting-edge technology. The envisioned system will allow for conversational-style searches with an AI-powered avatar that will deliver swift and accurate retrieval of information.
Pohl Strategic Marketing is thrilled to help BC Crane Safety take this bold new step in serving their stakeholders. In partnership with Pohl Strategic, BC Crane Safety is reinforcing their role as the primary certification and safety resource for the crane industry in British Columbia.
