POHL Strategic had built a simple site for Howie’s Roofing a short… wait, that was 5 years ago?! It gained good local search engine ranking and became a solid source of business leads, however along with the legitimate web submissions came a steady stream of spam messaging. With the immanent deadline of Google’s mobile ranking algorithm update looming, Howie decided it was time to look at a mobile-friendly solution.
The limited content of Howie’s previous website lent well to a constructing a single-page scrolling site, built so that it responds appropriately to any screen size and device including widescreen, tablet and mobile. Howie’s recent decision to label his tools and machinery with bright, construction-yellow stickers provided the impetus for a fresh, striking look to his website that meshes nicely with his new branding.
As Howie has become quite active on his Facebook page, regularly posting current projects, we simply integrated that page into his website to save him time and ensure his project portfolio is always up to date. The addition of Akismet spam filtering and a captcha to his quote submission form ensures that Howie spends less time perusing junk mail so he can get to what’s important. Because that’s “Howie do it”!
