Why Storytelling?
Because people remember stories.
And, in terms of viewer engagement on our clients’ websites, visitors spend over 100% more time on stories.
So, your stories are a treasure. They define who you are, showcase your talent, and capture your brand identity succinctly. When your stories are captured well, with clarity and creativity, they build trust and confidence with your ideal client.
The Power of Stories
Within the marketing world, we’re coming back to the simple reality that storytelling is the mother of all marketing strategies. In the words of marketing expert, Seth Godin, “Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories you tell.”
So, how are you utilizing the art of storytelling in marketing?
At Pohl Strategic, we want to help you tell your best stories. That’s why our storytelling services have become one of the key ways that we serve our clients.
Project Stories Based on Personal Interviews
As we work with specialized companies in the luxury architecture and construction industry, we tell the story of how their company interacts with clients on a specific project.
These project stories are based on personal inter views that we conduct with as many key personnel as necessary, depending on the kind of story we are being asked to write.
We create these project stories in a variety of lengths and depths.
For customers like Dynamic Fenestration, we’ve created longer form stories that explain the company’s uniquely collaborative approach and how they help architects overcome the complex challenges of tailor-made windows and doors (see the Fulldraw Winery story).
For other customers like Chaparral Industries, we’ve provided detailed before-and-after stories that explore how their clients discovered the benefits of modular homes (see the Pinnell Residence story).
For other customers like Helical Works Co, we’ve delivered simpler stories that describe how they effectively solved their client’s problem (see the Redux story).
Storytelling Services
Project Story
- 1000-2000-word narrative account of a collaborative project
- Based on initial consultation with client (to gain basic information/context)
- Interview with the client’ s client (to understand collaborative relationship)
- Possible secondary interview with another partner, i.e., builder, designer, etc. (each additional partner interview adds a layer of depth and complexity)
- Outcome: detailed story with quotes from various parties that explores the unique challenges of a project and how those were met through a collaborative approach
Storytelling Alternative
Project Profile
As another option, we offer a simpler and shorter alternative to a Project Story, which we call a Project Profile. It describes what you do for your clients, but without including your client’s perspective in their own words.
- 300–500-word description of a project
- Based on consultation with client
- Structured around four sections: Client, Challenge, Solution, and Outcome
- Client supplies details, including possible quote/testimonial from their client
- Outcome: simple one-page profile that describe how our clients effectively solve their client’s problem
